Family.

Friday was my mom's 50th birthday. Russ and I took the week off, and showed up at my parents' house on Monday. My mom had no idea. She had thought that the only daughter coming home was Cher, who was on reading week. Mom and dad went to a B&B on Tuesday. Tuesday night, the doorbell rings, and Cher runs up to get it. Russ and I remain downstairs. We hear Cher squeal, so we go running upstairs, and there, in the entry way, is Caryn!! Caryn is going to school in Winnipeg, and so no one had any idea that she would be able to come home! She planned it in January, and told no one except her friends Leesa and Brandon, because they picked her up from the airport. Christine came home on Wednesday, so when mom and dad got home on Thursday, we were all there. Mom was speechless. It was a great birthday surprise!

Twenty-Four on the Twenty-Fourth.

Today is my royal birthday. (Actually, at the time of this post, it's technically the 25th, but since I haven't gone to bed yet, it's still my birthday). 24 on the 24th. Honestly, it has been pretty good. Birthdays are always annoying because they get all hyped up and blown out of proportion, and then the expectations are too high and the day ends up being disappointing. We went to Cheesecake Cafe for dinner, and Dream Tea afterwards, and it was fun! All in all, I'm a year older, and no worse for the wear. Happy Birthday to me.

Crazies.

If a middle aged woman with an accent approaches you, RUN FOR YOUR FREAKIN' LIFE. This is the conclusion that I have arrived at. Inevitably, they will make you crazy. Work is good, but busy...however, I am scheduled to work on my birthday!! I mean, my birthday usually sucks, but I would prefer it sucking somewhere other than work.
We still haven't got the apartment unpacked, since both of us are working like madmen...but I hope to have it done before my birthday.
Things are very busy right now....but since I'm working so much, not much else is going on in my life...I feel very cut off from the rest of the world...I miss everyone!!

My Birthday.

Today is my 23rd birthday. Man, do I feel old...I know that I'm not, but still...
It was a quiet day today. Russ and I went to the mall, for about 1/2 hr. because it was so stupidly busy. Then Russ took me to Gabbana for supper, which was soo good!!! Then we went and bought a lemon cream shortcake, and watched the movie Billy Elliot (which is such a great movie!) My parents called from somewhere in Montana (on their way home from Texas), which was nice because I hadn't been able to talk to them for about 10 days. I really wish that I didn't have to work 7 open shifts in a row this week...it kind of puts a damper on my freaking out over how much stuff I have to get done before the middle of August...but...I also need the money so that I don't have move again...but yes. Today is my birthday, so happy birthday to me.
