I HEART ETSY!!

Seriously, I am so addicted to Etsy.com! It's a fabulous site where you can buy and sell all things handmade. I could spend hours browsing...and have. In fact, I found this beautiful necklace that I hope will match my wedding dress. The artisan who made it was absolutely wonderful to do business with, and I recommend that you all check out her stuff!!
An added bonus to getting a gorgeous necklace, she donates a portion of her profits to breast cancer research, being a survivor herself. On top of that, she included, as a free gift, these gorgeous earrings that perfectly match the necklace. It's so great because I was trying to find some earrings that would match, and to no avail.
So go! Browse! Fall in as much like with etsy as I have!

SHOCKER!!!

I love my new job. Seriously! No, you didn't read that wrong. (You can re-read it, if you don't believe it...it is in writing after all...) I actually like my job! Think about it. I'm surrounded by thousands of books, I work with other people who love books as much as I do, and who are educated as well, and I get to help customers find books! The type of customer that comes into a bookstore is definitely different than the type of customer that comes into a grocery store, or a coffee shop, or a clothing store. One huge difference is that they actually assume that you KNOW SOMETHING!!! They don't usually try to come off as being smarter than you!!

There are a few drawbacks to working in a bookstore though...one being that you are surrounded by books, shelving books, sorting books and immersed in books...which makes you want to buy LOTS of books with your discount. There also was a slight pay cut from working at the place whose name I shall not utter, but it's also closer to home, accessible via public transit, and DOESN'T SUCK.

Cass is happy.

And I said, "What about Breakfast At Tiffany's?"

I bought the anniversary edition of Breakfast at Tiffany's on DVD. It is one of my most favorite movies ever...I love Audrey Hepburn!! She was such a fantastic person...I highly recommend the movie to anyone who hasn't seen it. It's one of the classics.
Speaking of dumber than a bowl of cookies, Russ and I went to the Lulu Lemon warehouse sale...I prepared myself for the stupidity that was about to befall us...but I'm still amazed at how self-centered the majority of their clientele is! Most of the good stuff was already gone, but I got some great capri pants for $40, regularly $84...so it was not in vain. The change room sucked though, because that's all it was. A room with some mirrors slapped on the wall. Not so bad, except that there were way too many people in the room, and since no one cared about anyone but themselves, they would walk all over your clothing and stuff...ugh. But at least I got my pants. Yay. Now I can wear them in the sauna apartment...yup. We now have heat. Actually, we can't shut the heat off, and it is now a zillion degrees, and the windows have all swelled shut, and so we are stuck in the stupid sauna apartment...now all I need are some rocks...

Shopaholics Anonymous

Hi. I'm Cassandra, and I'm a shopaholic. Well, an online shopaholic, to be precise. I can't stop myself. I find all of these deliciously alluring products, and with a few clicks of a mouse, and a few weeks later, they are delivered to my door. No battling the zombie mall people, scary salespeople, or idiots who don't know what they are doing and shouldn't be allowed to breed. I should start a support group. Or is there one already? But if I started my own, then only the cool kids could join...Okay, maybe it's not only online purchasing...I don't have a closet full of clothing with tags still attached, but, um...have you seen my makeup CASE lately?? It's pretty bad when the sales girls at MAC recognize you, and have a pretty good idea of what you already own...the thing is, is that since I always do different things with my makeup, I do use it all. Hmm...come to think of it, I do have a closet full of shoes that I should deal with...And...how many winter jackets does one person need? Okay, you guys, I have a problem. I do. I fully admit it. I just bought a scent collection of products from Victoria's Secret..."Vanilla Lace"...mmmmmmmmm...I can't wait! Yup. Not only am I a music junkie and a movie junkie, but I'm also a beauty product junkie. (Russ or my sisters or Steph or Rebecca could vouch for that) Man. Well, in classic junkie fashion, here's where I start pointing fingers at others...You know who you are. So I say, Shopaholics...UNITE!! Maybe we could fight crime...

I Think I Have the BrainRot...

I'm supposed to be writing an excessively long literary review on anorexia nervosa for my medical anthropology class, complete with an annotated bibliography...due tuesday...however, I have a final on tuesday as well, so I have to have the paper finished by Monday so that I can study for the final. (Hooray for Faulknerian sentences!!) I haven't started it yet...in fact, I haven't even got all my sources together yet...and now I am writing a post...Hooray for procrastination!! I can't wait for this semester to be over...I hope that next semester doesn't suck mooseballs...My classes appear to be potentially interesting, so we shall see.

I'm so proud of myself! I have over half of my Christmas shopping done!! I think that it is a great feeling to have all my shopping done...I'll have to wait until after the 7th to finish though, because by then, I will be done school for the semester!! It is snowing out...I have mixed feelings about that, because it never feels like Christmas without snow, but it was so WARM!!! Oh well...so it goes. I must say that I am getting sick of Christmas music though...we aren't allowed to play anything BUT at the Cup, and there are only so many songs available...so yeah...

I'm addicted to online shopping. Especially sephora and amazon...they are so great...and it actually is a good thing in terms of purchasing because I have to really decide whether or not I want something before ordering, plus I can get stuff that is hard-to-find or inaccessible for me...I highly recommend it...if you have a small amount of willpower, that is. I just bought the new Rammstein album, Reise, Reise. I love them!! There's something about a bunch of dorky guys singing in german...

Wow...I'm really rambling about nothing now...shows how much I DON'T want to work on that stupid paper....However... I think my OVID session is gonna time-out soon, so gotta get back to it...
